The fifth tree on our trail, a Cedar of Lebanon, is located on the inside of the peripheral road between the Italian Garden and the Rose Garden.

Cedarwood was used in the past to construct major buildings in the Middle East, including Solomon’s Temple, as it is durable and immune to insect ravages. It is also used as an insect repellent as in mothballs.
