When you hire the picnic hut it is yours from 10am so there is plenty of time for you to arrange tables and chairs to your liking and personalise the room with balloons and banners. You can cater the whole event yourself or ask us about catering package from the Craigtoun Cafe.
Included in the hire fee is the use of a whole host of giant games and sports equipment: Jenga, Connect Four, Draughts, Sports Day Equipment, Cricket Set, Pop Up Football Nets, Rounders, Tug of War, Table Tennis and Quoits. For a supplement of £15.00 you can have the use of a power generator, which will also enable you to use our hot water urn (consumables & crockery are not provided). Groups hiring the Picnic Hut are eligible for our group rate of £7.50 per person for day wrist bands. Finally, to add a little bit of extra fun to your outing, we offer a Letter Hunt free of charge for anyone hiring the Picnic Hut. We provide the clues and letters – you provide the prizes!
Parties are welcome to enjoy a barbecue outside the Picnic Hut but we ask that you do not place the barbecues directly on the grass and that you dispose of them responsibly afterwards.
The Party Tent is located on the grassy area behind the Craigtoun Cafe and close to the main toilet block. It is available to hire for any type of event and includes the use of giant, outdoor games and a letter trail. There are tables & chairs inside and power can be supplied to the venue if required.
Our Open Shelter is located close to the Adventure Playground and is available to reserve for the day for groups who want a wet weather option and/or a focal point for a less formal get-together. There is bench seating around the inside perimeter and we can also provide folding tables and a few additional chairs if required.
