The Friends of Craigtoun Story

About us

The Friends of Craigtoun was formed in 2012 with the aim of securing the future of Craigtoun Country Park as an amenity for the people of St Andrews, Fife and visitors to the area.

Following lengthy discussions with Fife Council it was agreed that the Friends should take over the running of all facilities in the park and, in a partnership arrangement the Council, would maintain the grounds and assist with grants/investment. Cut to 2022 and the story gets even better. With the help of council grants and external grants/donations, further investment has been made in the park including the complete re-furbishment of the Rio Grande Miniature Railway and the installation of a free to use trim trail with zip wires and all inclusive play equipment. The pathway leading from the car park to the Cafe and Ticket Office has also been tarmacked, making the park more accessible for wheelchair users.
