Zines, Collages & Sketchbooks

Fife-based artist, Vanessa Gibson, will be conducting 3 workshops at Craigtoun on the bank holiday Monday - 1 for pre-teens, 1 for teens and 1 for adults. To find out more about the event as a whole and to reserve spaces on these workshops, please visit the main event page: Art in the Park.

Workshop Title: Monster Pals Collage (Suitable for 8–12 yrs)

Date / Time: Monday 4th May / 10.00 – 11.30 am

Ticket Price: £5

Location: The Party Tent (behind the Craigtoun Cafe)

Workshop Description:
A lively and playful workshop where children will create unique collage portraits using paper and other art materials. This session encourages imagination, confidence, and self-expression in a supportive and enjoyable setting.

Workshop Title: Teen Zines: Colour Hyper Focus (Suitable for 13-18 yrs)

Date / Time: Monday 4th May / 12.00 – 1.30 pm

Workshop Description:
Teenagers can explore their creativity by making their own zines. Using colour, drawing, collage, and words, participants will design a small handmade magazine inspired by their current obsession. 

Workshop Title: Sketchbook Making for Adults (Suitable for 18 yrs+)

Date / Time: Monday 4th May / 2.00 – 3.30 pm

Ticket Price: £15

Location: The Party Tent (behind the Craigtoun Cafe)

Workshop Description:
A relaxed and welcoming workshop for adults to make their own sketchbooks. Participants will explore simple sketchbook-making techniques and leave with handmade sketchbooks ready for drawing, writing, or creative exploration.

About the artist:
Vanessa Gibson’s work is inspired by song lyrics and she has developed a very distinctive style seen on furniture and clothing. Vanessa has participated in several public sculpture and mural projects. She is former PTC Creative Art at a busy Fife high school and now loves to work with people of all ages to help foster their creativity. You can learn more about Vanessa's work by visiting her website.
