Over the winter the Friends of Craigtoun began the refurbishment of the Potting Shed and, at the same time, took steps to reduce the park's carbon usage.

A new roof was installed thanks to generous grants from HAAO Trust and Fife Council, in addition to the Friend's own funds, and this paved the way for the installation of a high-tech new roof cover funded by grants from Fife Environmental Trust and St Andrews Community Trust. Finally, solar panels were installed with a grant from Crown Estates.

The project was completed just in time to benefit from the glorious weather we've had over the past few days with Craigtoun currently producing enough energy to cover more than half the electricity it is using. Happy days!
