Employability Project

Now that things have quietened down in the park, we have resumed our employability initiative with Dundee-based charity, Helm, who will now be providing catering services in the park on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10 am and 2 pm, with the support of staff from the Friends of Craigtoun. You can read more about our relationship with Helm in our Blog Post from 2nd April this year.

Update 28/11/2023
Helm are now taking applications for their next 10 week course, which is due to start on Tuesday 9th January 2024 and will run on a Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 2pm in the Craigtoun Cafe. Transport can be provided to and from the park for those who can get to St Andrews bus station or Leuchars train station.

The course is aimed at 19 to 25 year olds in the North East Fife and Levenmouth areas and covers Numeracy, Life Skills ,Customer Service Skills and Joinery Skills.

When I heard that Craigtoun was in danger of closing and that a determined group of people were going to try and ensure that didn’t happen, I was only too glad to help in any way I could.  Like many people in this area, I had known and loved Craigtoun all my life and the thought of losing this gem didn’t bear thinking about.
