The Halloween Event has been a highlight of the Craigtoun calendar since way back in 2014. Click here to see photos of some of the costumes we've been treated to over the years!
This year's spookfest at Craigtoun is taking place on the very night of All Hallows Eve!
The event is centred around the Party Tents, aka Devil's Cave, which will be erected between the Ticket Office and the Craigtoun Cafe. Here you will find the Halloween games - try eating a doughnut off a string without using your hands! - and the disco. Our compere, Kerry, will be leading party games throughout the event, as well as inviting children to take the mic themselves to tell their favourite Halloween joke or give us another party piece. Any pumpkins that you would like to be judged should be placed on the table provided in Devil's Cave. The winners will be announced at 6.30, after which those who would like to enter the fancy dress competition will be invited onto the dance floor to be judged. 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes will be given for both competitions. Also in the Party Tent, the gentlemen from Men's Shed will be encouraging children to press their own apple juice - at Craigtoun, we don't dook for apples, we press them!
Outside the tent, we will have a graveyard to explore and lots of props for photo opportunities. For the first time this year, our Halloween Trail will incorporate the new Fairy & Pixie Trail, which will be lit up, leading all the way to the Enchanted Circle, where you will find a storyteller, eager to tell some chilling tales. (But not too chilling - it's a family event!).
The bouncy castles will be inflated for some nighttime bouncing and that area is also where you will board Puffin' Billy for the Ghost Ride. The park looks very different in the dark and you can never be sure what ghouls will be hanging around waiting to spook the passengers as it passes!
